Both were underestimated & undervalued. Together they find acceptance, tackle insurmountable problems and get results.
I love the characters, enjoyed their playfulness, felt the rage & morning. It was interesting contrast two cultures perspective on difference.

Great read. Loved everything about the book and loved the characters. Didn't want to put the book down.
I really enjoyed the book however there were times that it seemed to drag out.
There were quite a few grammar and spelling errors as I got farther into the book.
Even with that I enjoyed the story.
I do not like to read graphic sex content so at times I would scan on ahead.
I enjoyed this book. The characters are believable and have depth and strength. The story was exciting to read and difficult to put down until the end. The build up of romance between the lead characters was beautifully written. I felt the author tackled the moral dilemma presented int the novel with sensitivity. Another excellent historical romance written by this author.
The story was pretty good and I enjoyed that. However the sexual content was over the top. Reading a story doesn't need to be x rated to make it a good book. I could have enjoyed the book much more with reasonable sexual references. This I feel ruined the book.
I could not put this book down, worth reading from start to finish. Maureen McKade is a wonderful story teller. I have read several books by this author and have never been disappointed. This author gives the reader a good balance between the plot and romance and the tension that moves the story along. I know that I will read this book again and I only have a few stories that fall into that category.
This is a fascinating story of separation and reuniting. It tells a tale of a young girl who is found by native americans and kept for 6 years and then reunited with her white family and treated less than civil by her town. There is misunderstanding, bias against indians, kidnapping, emotional drama, a massacre, survival and a building romance. The characters are interesting. It is moving and a good read.
What I truly love about this book and author is the flow. Not every character is perfect they have a true grit about them. They represent a time when tolerance and acceptance of personal flaws was accepted! Sadly today everyone wants perfection. The Lakota people are poignantly described and their reverence for the earth and each other. This book makes one wish for simpler times and will be a great reminder of what was !
